Jeff Bird's Electrified EZ Sport
The motor is a “brushless” type and has a small controller he mounts under the top tube. He says controllers do tend to burn out occasionally, but at $60 each it doesn't break the bank to replace it. [Sounds like he would be better off with a controller that has a higher amperage rating and/or better heatsink finning.] He uses a regular lead acid battery charger that luckily has about the right volts and amps for this application, and he runs it for 4 hours on a shut-off timer.
