Jon's 5x5 Speeds Jon has a Sturmey-Archer model S5 5-speed internal geared hub with a 5-speed freewheel added to give 25 gears. He and Mark think it probably required a custom machined long axle since S-A only stocked a limited range of lengths themselves. With a 3 ring crankset you would have 75 speeds, but you would need 4 shifters. Jon was a bit dubious about the secondary shifter bellcrank, but Mark said he could adapt a superior Shimano part for this use. (Sturmey only produced this flimsy, sheet metal bellcrank for a short while, but most S5 hubs I've seen came with it.
