Carl Gulbronson talked about his trip to Taiwan, to look into having some products made there. He talked about how very small businesses are "Vertically integrated". A small shop may be creating very intricate extrusions, which the guy across the street may machine, and the guy next door annodize the resulting pieces, to produce computer heat sinks.
A long flight home, was made even longer because the guy in the seat behind him went nuts and started threatening him. Had to be restrained by air marshals.
