14th Annual Human Powered Ice Race World Championship
Despite being delayed a day, due to weather, we had on of our best turnouts ever, with 27 entrants.
Many thanks to those who helped with course preparation, including a
team of 11 students from Grove City College in Pensylvania.
Also to those who helped with staging and timing the events.
It's a lot colder standing around starting, timing or flaging riders than it is racing.

Special thanks to St Thomas Academy who not only provided a warming house
and toilets, but also a tractor with 6 foot snow blower and a plow. The tractor
left about 1/2 of snow on the ice which was easilly cleared by about 2 dozen shovelers.

Rides; Since 2001, most MnHPVA rides are scheduled on short notice and posted to members of the RecumbentsMN eMail list. We find that we get more people willing to lead rides this way, with rides nearly every week. We usually get a better turnout than when the rides were scheduled months in advance. Major rides, like the Spring and Fall rides, Lance's Corn Roast and the Harvest Moon ride will continue to be placed on the "Coming Events" page well in advance.

12th Annual Human Powered Ice Vehicle World Championship Races
Saturday January 25th, had a huge turnout. Please send me any photos that I can use for a web page for the event.
