This organization has promoted the use of human power in recumbent and other bikes, watercraft, and airplanes through research, racing, education, a newsletter HPV News, and the technical journal Human Pwer since 1977. The IHPVA has been instrumental in supplying the environment necessary to create the innovation that one sees in the recumbent market today. Their publications and events have been the backbone of the human power movement since it's inception.
