Some of the frame was a donor Trek, and in the course of trying to use it with a minimum of cutting Clay ended up with a shallow X frame rather like a Rans Stratus. He added one tube that is a piece of muffler pipe, but it needed bracing webs added above and below after the first trial rides showed it to be weak and bending very noticeably (Clay is a potential Clydesdale Club member, by the way, so if a tube is going to bend he will be the one to do it!). The rear suspension spring is a whopper, which he thinks is rated at about 1,000 pounds per inch.
