Jim Black's Electic Quadribent
Jim Black had a Quadribent with two kinds of electric assist units to compare. The Currie unit that attaches to a special rear hub by a left side sprocket and freewheeling clutch, and another unit that is contained inside the rear hub and puts out 750 watts (about one horsepower!).
He also had a second wheel with the same kind of hub unit, plus an uninstalled prototype EZ electric drive that will act as an intermediate drive with one sprocket to the chainrings and a second one driving the rear hub.
